The product states to have clinical testing in perimenopausal women showing positive results.

Estrovera has been noted to have severe side effects including cancer, as it is based on estrogen therapy. It is not even considered to be suitable for pregnant women and diabetic patients.

The official website recommends the use of the product as one capsule a day with a good diet.

Microcrystalline cellulose is a fat substitute. It even acts as an emulsifier.

Stearic Acid and Calcium Stearate are used to deal with menopausal symptoms such as depression, stress and most importantly weight gain.

Croscarmellose sodium is also used to treat issues like hot flashes.

Conclusion: Words from User;

One of the comments for Estrovera states “This was recommended by a trusted pharmacist as alternate for hot flashes. It apparently works great for some, but unfortunately, it is not working for me. Hot flashes and bad dreams seem to be even worse. I know everyone reacts differently and can't really fault this product. Just disappointed that I did not have relief. This company came highly recommended for their quality and I can't really fault them. Just disappointed and still searching.” The User was totally disappointed by this product as it did not show any positive results for her.

Another user says the she took this to help reduce her hot flashes - no go...she still has them. She did not notice any other changes either. But she wants to say that through her menopause experiences she has found that some products work for her and not others. She suggests not giving it a try.... A waste of money!!

  9. At the beginning my hot flashes worsened, but I decided to keep taking it. Two weeks later, my hot flashes were reduced from over 20 to maybe one a day.. I am very thankful to my chiropractor who told me about this product; however, is there truly any side effects such as cancer?

  10. Where did you get the information regarding "Estrovera has been noted to have severe side effects including cancer"? I'm doing some research before I try this as it was recommended by my naturopath.

  11. I've tried everything under the sun and then the health store I go to recommended this. I tried one month supply and it did nothing! When I returned to the store I told them I had no results and they encouraged me to continue on them because sometimes it take at least two months to see results. Still discouraged I decided I'd give it one more month because my hot flashes and night sweats were unbearable and I'd try anything to get some relief. Well....as I continued onto month two I started noticing I wasn't having near as many hot flashes and night sweats. My night sweats were so bad I sleep with a towel to dry off through the night! Now on month three I have little to NO HOT FLASHES or NIGHT SWEATS! I will still get an occasional one now and then but that's it! Anybody feeling discouraged I strongly encourage them not to give up yet. Keep taking them for at least two months like I did and they may start to work for you like they did for me.

  12. I took them for only 3 weeks, and did not have any relief at all. However, my blood pressure dropped VERY low (almost dangerously), which made me very dizzy and headachy. I stopped taking them, in case this was the cause of the low blood pressure, and it is now stabilizing again. Has anyone else had this problem with their blood pressure dropping as a result of taking Estrovera?

    2. I took Estrovera (1tab/day) for 6 weeks or so...Noticed a reduction in Sweats, but at a price: The product made me absolutely catatonic. I have a high-pressure job working on dangerous electrical equipment, and I just felt like I could hardly move..plus head and joint aches that were painful. Needed 6 energy drinks/day just to functiona at all! All of this ceased after I discontinued use of Estrovera. Topical creams out there work well with none of these crippling side effects!

  14. I have been using this product for 1 1/2 months now, and my hot flash and night sweat reduction is significant. I also had to keep a towel by my bed at night because of the severe hot flashes. I can now sleep almost all through the night and the daily hot flashes again reduced significantly. I have tried other naturopathy products recommended by the pharmacist that have not worked. this on recommended by my obgyn is great. it is worth a shot if your symptoms are severe.

  15. Has anyone bought it in Canada. Pharmaprix does not carry it and cannot order it for me. Seeing how expensive it is, it would be great if I could have it passed by my insurance. Second question is if it causes weight gain because I don't need any more thank you!

    1. I live in Montreal, Quebec. Dr. Hum sells Estrovera in his office on Cote Des Neige. You can also have your pharmacist order it for you from the company Metagenics at 1-800-268-6200 Ext: 4245

    2. I am going to buy this tomorrow at Health Tree health food store in Dollard des Ormeaux in Montréal. I am contraindicated for HRT as there are many women on my mother's side who have had breast cancer (aunts, cousins) including my sister. I have heard good things about this product. I was in Costco today and spoke to the pharmacist who advised that you should not take any 'natural' product to combat menopausal symptoms that contain soy as it will increase your cancer risk. My symptoms are quite severe. I have tracked my flashes and am experiencing 35-40 flashes per day NOT INCLUDING THE UNBEARABLE NIGHT SWEATS!! I am anxious to give Estrovera a try! Will keep you posted. Renée

    4. We can buy this in Winnipeg at CD Whyte Ridge Pharmacy. It took about 3 weeks until I started noticing that the number of hot flashes per night decreased. I've been taking for about 2 months now. I have 2-3 flashes per night now and they are not as intense. Definitely helps me.

    1. I have been taking it for a little over a month now and have gained about 6 pounds and haven been on a diet at the same time...so I am probably going to stop taking it since I have not noticed any positive changes.

    2. I started taking this after reading a number of reviews on various sites. I don't think it works for everyone but I had heard that you should try for 2 months or so, so I took it diligently every morning with my regular vitamins etc. I actually kind of forgot about it until I realized one day that I wasn't having night sweats anymore, sleeping well, little to no anxiety (which was getting to be a really bad issue w/ me. ie almost panic attacks - awful). It has been great for me - have been taking for around 3 months. The weight gain question is interesting now that I am reading this site. I have been trying and had been really great at dieting for 6 weeks or so and could not lose a pound. I have been thinking that my body passed another milestone in weight loss difficulty but now it does make me question the Estrovera. Hmmmm. Well, am seeing a Naturopath for weight loss and starting Progesterone so hoping for the best. This product works very well for symptoms in my case, but will keep a thought about the weight gain potential.

  18. I had been taking Estrovera once/day for about 6 weeks. There was a reduction in Flashes, but at a price: I became almost catatonic, no energy, could not think at all. I have a high pressure job working on dangerous electrical equipment, and need to stay on my toes. Six energy drinks a day was needed to function at all! After discontinuing use of Estrovera, the problems went away. I never had anything affect me so badly.

  19. I have had amazing results since taking this. I was having multiple hot flashes during the day as well as night sweats at night. I started taking this at the recommendation of a Naturopathic doctor and all of that went away after only 3 or 4 days. I recently forgot to take it for 2 days and the hot flashes starting coming back. I have not experienced any adverse side effects.

  20. I started taking Estrovera two weeks ago to help alleviate my hot flashes. I have not seen a significant change in the hot flashes yet. However, I have notice a relief in vaginal dryness. My concern... I have also had slight spotting. This is quite alarming as I have not had a period in over 3 years. Has anyone else encountered this????
